Soila Platero de Calderon, 95, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away on January 10, 2018 at 4:50 a.m. In West Jordan, Utah. She was born on June 27, 1922 in San Vicente Guadalupe, El Salvador to Celestino Platero and Victoria Menjivar. She married the love of her life Jose Antonio Calderon in March 1969 and was later sealed to him for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple. Together they had 7 children.
Soila is survived by her 5 children Roberto (Carmen Maria), Teresita (Alberto), Susan (Daughter in law), Miriam (Tito), Jorge (Monica) and Julio. 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
In life she will be remembered for her smile that brought a smile to you when you saw it and the kisses she always had for her family. Always the caretaker she served her family and her faith with love and laughter.
Preceded in death by her love Jose Antonio Calderon; her children Luis Antonio and Silvia; her parents Celestino Platero y Victoria Menjivar; and all of her siblings.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 12th, 2018 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at LDS church 5938 West 6200 South Kearns, Utah 84118 with interment following at Memorial Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road Salt Lake City, Utah 84123.
Soila Platero de Calderón, 95, nuestra querida madre, abuela, bisabuela y tátara abuela falleció el día 10 de Enero del 2018 a las 4:50 a.m. In West Jordan, Utah. Nació el 27 de Junio de 1922 en San Vicente Guadalupe, El Salvador de Celestino Platero y Victoria Mejivar. Se casó con el amor de su vida José Antonio Calderón en Marzo de 1969 después fueron sellados por tiempo y toda la eternidad en el Templo de Jordan River. Juntos tuvieron 7 hijos.
Soila deja a sus 5 hijos Roberto (Carmen María), Teresita (Alberto), Susan (Nuera), Miriam (Tito), Jorge (Mónica) y Julio. 20 nietos, 36 bisnietos y 1 tátara nieto.
En vida será recordada por su sonrisa que alegraba a cualquiera y los muchos besos que siempre tenia para su familia. Siempre sirvió a su familia con amor y risas.
Se une nuevamente a su esposo José Antonio Calderón; sus hijos Luis Antonio y Silvia; sus padres Celestino Platero y Victoria Menjivar; y todos sus hermanos y hermanas.
El servicios velatorio se llevara a cabo el día viernes 12 de enero del 2018 de 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. seguido por el servicio funeral en la Iglesia 5938 West 6200 South Kearns, Utah 84118
El sepelio será en el cementerio Memorial Estates 6500 South Redwood Road Salt Lake City, Utah 84123.
