Sidney Cutler Hawkes “Gramps”
December 25, 1933 – May 2, 2019 Our Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed away peacefully in the early AM of May 2, 2019. Born in Thomas, Bingham, Idaho to Harold Hawkes and Ethel McKinley Hawkes, Sidney was retired from the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Married on January 18, 1959, His wife of 56+ years, Janet Ellen Glass Hawkes passed from this life in June of 2015. The separation from his Eternal Companion was very difficult for Sidney, however it has ended and they are once again together to progress and grow as a couple. Sidney had many hobbies and favorite things to do, including sports and woodworking until he was no longer physically able. However, above all He loved seeing and visiting with family. He had a tradition of giving his 2 sons and their wives, grandchildren and their spouses and his great‐grandchildren nicknames to show his individual love for each of them. Suffering from various ailments over the past 30+ years and presented with more than his fair share of trials and challenges, He remained with us until Our Heavenly Father deemed he had learned, grown and progressed as much as he could in this life. We will miss him, However we all look forward to seeing him again and marveling at his continued growth and progress. A simple Grave‐side service will be held at 2 PM May 8th, 2019 at the Camp Williams Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park located at 17111 South 1700 West Bluffdale, UT 84065
