In the early morning hours of August 2, 2021, our dear mother, Florence Sorensen Ewell, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. Mother was born February 20, 1929, in Palmyra, Utah to James and Effie Sorensen. She was the eleventh of twelve children. Mother married the love of her life, Walter Dee Ewell, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 16, 1946. Mother was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her greatest desire in life was to keep her family together, loving and serving each other. She had various church callings throughout her life. Her valiant and loving spirit touched the lives of many. Mother was a gifted writer; composing poems, stories, and talks. The spiritual insights in her writing will touch the lives of her posterity for generation to come. Her burning testimony of the scriptures and love of the Lord Jesus Christ has influenced and shaped our individual lives. Mother had a quiet strength, set a shining example, and loved all she came in contact with. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children: Colleen (David) Anderson, Diane (Mike) Tea, Pam (David) Brady, LaMar (Meg) Ewell, James (Julie) Ewell, Robyn Flowers, and Tammy (Jeff) Allred, 43 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
