In Loving Memory of Catalina Alvarado Lopez
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Catalina Alvarado Lopez, a beloved mother, friend, and cherished member of our Park City community. Catalina passed away unexpectedly today 12/19/24, leaving behind her daughter and son, residents of Park City.
Catalina moved to Park City over two decades ago, choosing to raise her children (now young adults) in this beautiful small town because it reminded her so much of her hometown in Michoacán, Mexico. She was drawn to the town’s four distinct seasons and its warm, tight-knit community—qualities that made her feel at home, even far from her native country.
A selfless, hardworking woman, Catalina dedicated her life to her children. She made countless sacrifices, always putting their needs above her own. Her unwavering love and commitment to her family were evident in everything she did. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, attending weekly services, where she found comfort and strength in her faith.
Catalina’s love for her family extended beyond our borders—her deep ties to Mexico were a source of pride for her, and she carried the spirit and traditions of her homeland with her every day. She was a fierce protector of her children and would go to any lengths to see them thrive.
